About Me!

Hello! My name is Unluckful!

I am a millennial Japanese-American woman residing on the west coast of the USA.

I enjoy:

  • Reading. I am an avid consumer of sci-fi and in 2026 am branching into non-fiction.
  • Writing. I have written numerous (terrible) short stories and one (terrible) novella. I still hope to grow as a writer as well as branch into essay writing.
  • Cooking. I love the science of cooking. I most enjoy making traditional Japanese food, contempoary American , and combining the two into original "wafu" recipes.
  • Music. I am a fan of all genres of music and have been dabling with making my own music as well. I'm not very good at it all. Occasionally, I translate lyrics for little-known Japanese bands into English.
  • Tech hobbies. At various points in my life I've worked as a Linux systems admin, datacenter manager, and senior-level cybersecurity analyst and while I don't work directly in tech anymore, my passion for these topics remains strong. I am a full-time Linux user and maintain a moderately sized high-availability homelab.
